Farm-ng's Amiga V7 Makes World Ag Expo's 2024 List
Farm-ng is a Watsonville based startup that we featured back in June 2023 that is building affordable robots for agricultural use. The company, founded by roboticist Ethan Rublee, utilizes cutting-edge technology to create a modular robot that reduces the laborious parts of farming such as mowing, towing, seeding, hauling, compost spreading, and more.
The company announced via Linkedin on December 14 that their Amiga V7 platform was selected into the Top-10 New Product Winner category at the World Ag Expo. According the site, Amiga V7 by Farm-ng is an electric, configurable, 1.3HP platform that allows farmers, developers, and researchers to haul, tow, spray, apply composts and assist in other essential roles. The platform is the erector set of farm tools where the same machine can be configured over the row, wide, narrow, with intelligence and tools that lift or rotate. The intelligence platform has an open API allowing students, developers and even elementary school students to code and configure the machine to collect data, integrate with other tools, and perform repeated robotic tasks. With the GPS guidance system, it can perform precision steering and weed the same plots it seeded earlier in the year with minimal or no operator intervention.
The World Ag Expo is the largest annual outdoor agricultural trade show in the world with over 1,200 exhibitors showcasing their latest products, services, and technology in a 2.6 million square feet exhibit space. Attendees can view exhibitor booths, attend educational seminars and workshops, enjoy demonstrations, take tours of local wineries, orchards, or enjoy wine and cheese. Visitors attend to see cutting-edge agricultural technology, network, and learn about all the innovations happening in agriculture, including equipment, irrigation, farm management software, and much more. Last year’s 56th World Ag Expo hit an all time record high 108,000 attendees from 49 states in the U.S. and 56 countries attendees from 49 states in the U.S. and 56 countries.
