Titans of Tech 2022
Every year, Santa Cruz Works honors those amazing people in our community who have contributed to the growth of tech and entrepreneurship. It is time for our annual Titans of Tech 2022. In this hour of presentations, connect and learn the personal journeys and advice from the movers & shakers of our world. Networking and music by Cruz Control starts at 5pm. Titan presentations will be from 6-7pm. Food & beverage included in entry fee. It will be fantastic to see everyone again. This event will be held at the beautiful outdoor patio of Casablanca overlooking Santa Cruz Main Beach. Vaccination cards required for entry. Or attend virtually for free. Becca Fenwick / UCSC - Becca Fenwick is an expert in the field of drone technology and operations, a very male-dominated field, and she has risen as a regional leader.
Chris Miller / Cloud Brigade - engaging the community since 2008, established intern and apprenticeship programs in tech (44 alumni so far), creating AI that corrects the behavior of neighborly dogs who leave land mines on your lawns.
Hilary Bryant / Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County - the first surfing mayor of Santa Cruz has branched out to tech and works with various non-profit organizations.
James Hackett & Chris Frost / Equal Access Santa Cruz - providing broadband access to low-income households.
Michael Sikand / Our Future - creator of a short-form social media content targeting GenZ, saw an increase from several thousand to 200M+ viewers in one month. The new media mogul is here in Santa Cruz.
Nicole Beck / 2ndNATURE Software - a PhD in aquatic science and a passion for the environment. Ever seen the bumper sticker “Keep Tahoe Blue?” Yeah that was Nicole putting science into practice to help preserve one of our most precious ecosystems for all to enjoy as well as future generations.
Philippe Kahn / FullPower Technologies, LightSurf, Borland - possibly the most prolific entrepreneur ever to sail Santa Cruz waters, credited with creating the first complete camera phone solution, and 235+ more patents.
Roya Pakzad / Taraaz Research - an extraordinary emerging leader in the fields of technology and human rights.
