Joby Aviation on 60 Minutes with Anderson Cooper
Anderson Cooper met with several eVTOL manufactures, but none of them (in our humble opinion) had the the clout and impact as Joby Aviation. Why is Joby Aviation leading the pack?
Economics: this is not just for wealthy individuals. Flight fares will be roughly the same as an Uber car ride.
Both piloted and autonomous: fully-autonomous eVTOL will take 2-3xs longer to get FAA approval than a piloted aircraft.
Commercial readiness: flight service is scheduled to commence in 2022 in South Korea and Japan.
Industry confidence: foundational backing by Intel, JetBlue, Toyota, Uber, etc.
Fast: recharging takes 6 minutes, with a range of 150 miles at speeds approaching 200mph. Imagine getting out of San Francisco to beautiful Santa Cruz in 15 minutes rather than 2 hours.
Quiet: watch the other eVTOL flights. They are all quiet noisy compared to Joby which has been documented to be as quiet as the rustling of leaves.
