Santa Cruz Brand Lume Six Featured in Outside Magazine
For athletes and people with active lifestyles, the clothing and undergarments worn on an adventure or game can dramatically impact the experience. For those trekking through frigid climates with temperatures below zero to those swinging their rackets on the tennis court in 90-degree weather, wearing the wrong shoes, shirt, or undergarments can make it a less than pleasant experience and possibly mess up a game.
As an avid mountain biker and sports bra wearer who often experienced discomfort and pain from traditional sports bras, Margaux Jo Elliot set out to create the best and most comfortable sports bra using innovative materials.
“I started this brand knowing that sports bras could be so much better than they have been. I believe in the benefits of Lume Six sports bras, and I am thrilled that the editors of Outside Magazine feel the same way! This is an incredible honor and something that every active/outdoor brand aims to get every year, so to receive this recognition as such a small and new brand is incredible.”
-Margaux Jo Elliot, Founder of Lume Six
Using a past decade of experience developing technical and performance apparel in the cycling and snow sports industries, Elliot created Lume Six, a new woman-owned and Santa Cruz developed and designed sports bra brand. In 2021, the up and coming brand debuted the Alta Medium Impact sports bra ($100) and the Cirra High Impact sports bra ($120) both of which come in two versions: unlined or with thin sewn-in padding and in sizes ranging from XS to XL (with additional sizes such as XXL and 3XL to be added later this year). What makes this sports bra unique from others on the market is its woven exterior fabric that is thinner, more moisture-wicking, light, yet remarkably supportive and breathable. Outside Magazine recently featured Lume Six in it’s Editor’s Choice 2022 Summer Gear Guide, along side big brands like Patagonia, Lululemon, The North Face, and more.
