MBARI Open House: Your Window into the Wonders of Marine Science
The Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) invites you to step into the fascinating world of marine research at the MBARI Open House on Saturday, July 29. Join us anytime between 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. for this engaging community event. And the best part? It's absolutely free!
MBARI is a place where scientific discovery and innovative technology meet to decode the mysteries of our oceans. The Open House provides a unique opportunity for you to engage with our dedicated team of scientists, engineers, marine operators, and communicators, all passionate about marine research and eager to share their knowledge with you.
Ever wondered what it's like to control an underwater robot? Come test your skills at the interactive stations, where you can try your hand at building and piloting your very own deep-sea robot. Plus, there will be fun and educational crafts available for children.
But that's not all! Get an up-close look at the extensive fleet of advanced deep-sea robots that help us explore the ocean's depths.
Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to view research vessels docked at the port. While onboard tours aren't possible due to regulations set by the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Coast Guard, knowledgeable crew members will be on hand to answer all your questions and provide insights about life aboard a research vessel.
Come dive into the deep blue with us at the MBARI Open House. We can't wait to meet you and share our passion for exploring and protecting our incredible oceans. See you there!
