The team at Parallel Flight Technologies is thrilled to present Firefly, in its mature form. A last-mile UAS heavylift workhorse, built with our patented hybridpropulsion technology and designed to autonomously carry out critical missions for customers across several industries, globally.
Firefly has gone through some metamorphosis since it was first conceived, but what has emerged from the #PFT team is something truly new for the industry. At the heart of Firefly (really at the corners) is our Parallel Hybrid Electric Multirotor (PHEM) technology. Each hybrid module has a 120cc, fuel injected engine and a brushless e-motor. The aircraft has 480cc total engine displacement and 23kW of continuous power, with significantly higher burst power.
Designed to carry up to 100 lbs of payload, with ~10X what an all-electric system is capable of, Firefly is capable of flying long durations while carrying heavy loads. Additionally, the technology also enables true redundancy on each rotor - if any gas engine stalls, the other modules supply power to keep the failed module running.
