PVUSD State of the District

On October 4, 2024, PVUSD held the 2024 State of the District event and it was phenomenal!

Senator John Laird, COE Superintendent Dr. Faris Sabbah, CEO of CAB MariaElena de la Garza, and Student Trustee Daniel Esqueda delivered powerful talks centered on the importance of relationships and belonging. Missed it? No worries! PVUSD is taking the State of the District on the road with two mini-events, one at Aptos High and the other at Watsonville High. Stay tuned for more details!

Celebrating Attendance

The schools with the highest attendance are:

  • Elementary School: Rio Elementary - 95.5%

  • K-8 School: Alianza - 95.1%

  • Middle School: Rolling Hills - 95.4%

  • High Schools: Diamond Tech - 94.9%, Watsonville High - 94.7%

PVUSD Sustainable Budget Team

Reminder: PVUSD Board Trustee Area VII Vacancy

The application window for the Trustee Area VII vacancy is open through October 8. Interested in applying? Here's the notice of intent and the application form. There will be an informational meeting for applicants on Friday, October 11, from 11:30 AM to 1 PM in the District Boardroom.

October 7: No Pass, No Ride

Starting Monday, any student using the school bus needs a valid bus pass! If your student doesn’t have one yet, make sure to contact your school office to get one ASAP.

Aptos High Tiny Home Project

The Aptos High Tiny Home project has been a huge success. Over the past two years, around 200 students helped build the house, gaining valuable skills in construction and the building trades. Haven’t seen it yet? Watch this time-lapse video from Mr. Dusten Dennis' class showcasing the entire project. Next up: Watsonville High’s tiny home is set to be completed next year!
