Santa Cruz Works Welcomes Serena Ramirez to Team
Santa Cruz Works is excited to welcome Humanities Public Fellowship Business and Communications Assistant intern, Serena Ramirez to the Santa Cruz Works team! This internship is a collaboration between Santa Cruz Works and UC Santa Cruz Humanities Division. We are excited to offer this experiential learning opportunity for Humanities undergraduates at UC Santa Cruz to gain real world experiencing working with an organization like Santa Cruz Works.
Public Fellowships are internships that connect Humanities majors and minors to projects in the community, intending to benefit students and organizations mutually. Students gain practical experience and professional training and learn about positions outside of the university that build on their studies in the Humanities. At the same time, community organizations benefit from students’ assistance and academic expertise.
Serena Ramirez is a third-year Intensive Psychology and Critical Race and Ethnic Studies double major, minoring in Politics. She is interested in working at the intersection of psychology, critical race theory, and nonprofit communications to broaden access to social services and effectively serve the Santa Cruz community.
Serena brings with her experience working as a Community Engagement intern for the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz, Research Assistant for the Center for Economic Justice and Action and UCSC, Student Director/Non-profit Management Intern for Santa Cruz Free clinic, and more.
For Santa Cruz Works Partners, Serena will be available to help you at no cost should you need journalism support. Contact us via CONTACT.
Please join us in welcoming her to the team!
