Hansnap LLC. recently announced that its product, SNAP CLIP, has finally launched at Best Buy stores as of Sunday, October 23, 2022. The SNAP CLIP is a “One Button Remote for Phone, Tablet, Laptop” that gives you the ability to take a photo, change music/volume settings, or record all at the touch of a button. Instead of a clunky remote with confusing buttons, you can clip the SNAP CLIP to and quickly pair the device to your phone, tablet, or laptop via Bluetooth and take pictures, operate music and audio, and control your video streaming. 

Hansnap is a manufacturing company founded in 2014 by Santa Cruz entrepreneur, Justis Earle. Justis received an associate’s degree from Cabrillo College and graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a Bachleor’s degree in Biology and Environmental Studies in 2006. After some time working in the solar industry, music industry, and inventing on the side, Justis was eager to merge his passions into one via entrepreneurship. Justis spent several years researching and developing mobile phone accessories and attempting to break into the market with no luck.

SNAP CLIP’s Origin Story

While attending an investor forum, Justis made a connection with an individual who then introduced him to Jasun Weiner, former president of PopSocket. At the time, Justis had been working on a competing product similar to Popsocket, the phone grip company which is now worth several hundred million dollars. Justis had spent several years hustling and working on developing a variety of phone accessories, such as the SNAP Ring. Jasun saw potential in the product and decided to join forces with Justis. Both were eager to combine their knowledge and efforts to make an innovative, useful, and stylish product that the mobile phone accessory market desperately needed. In the summer of 2021, the first prototype of SNAP CLIP was born. Shortly after, the brand partnered with the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk to sell custom-branded units. Fast forward to today, about 18 months since the first prototype, the SNAP CLIP is finally available for purchase at one of the biggest electronic retailers in the world, Best Buy.  

The company has shipped out 55,000 SNAP CLIPs which will be featured on custom-branded five-foot displays in 600 Best Buy stores. And yes, you can find the SNAP CLIP at the Best Buy in Soquel!
