CEO of Paystand Selected as Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 Bay Area Finalist

Paystand, a leading blockchain-enabled B2B digital payment company based in Santa Cruz County is proud to announce that its CEO and Co-Founder, Jeremy Almond, has been selected as a Bay Area finalist for Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 by Ernst & Young LLP (EY). For the last four decades, this prestigious award has honored ambitious visionaries who are leading successful and dynamic businesses.

Jeremy is a leader in the fintech industry and a passionate advocate for financial inclusion. He founded Paystand in 2013 with the mission of creating an open financial infrastructure that could revolutionize how businesses pay and get paid. Since then, the company has grown into one of the most innovative digital payment platforms today. With customers ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, Paystand aims to revolutionize how money moves globally.

According to the EY website, the US program consists of 17 regional programs whose panels of independent judges select the regional award winners every June. Those regional award winners compete for national recognition the following November at the Strategic Growth Forum®, where National finalists and award winners are announced. The overall National winner then goes on to represent the US at the World Entrepreneur Of The Year® competition the following June.

2022 Entrepreneur of the Year included several companies, a few of which you may be familiar with such as the CEOs of Supergoop: Amanda Baldwin and Holly Thaggard, Wade Foster: Co-Founder and CEO, Zapier, CEO of Vuori: Joe Kudla, and Haroon Mokhtarzada Truebill (now Rocket Money).
