August 13, 2020: below is a snapshot of our 2020 Member Survey results.

  • 51% live in Santa Cruz

  • 45% work in Santa Cruz; 20% work over The Hill

  • 85% attended 3+ Santa Cruz Works events in 2020

  • 23% are engineers; 21% are in sales & marketing; 21% are consultants; 16% are entrepreneurs; 10% are in education

  • 53% work full time; 29% are self-employed; 8% are seeking work; 8% are retired; 3% are students

  • 80% enjoy Santa Cruz Works to connect with local companies; 61% enjoy learning about new technologies and services to deploy at their current companies; 58% would like to learn new business practices; 30% would like to learn new career skills (e.g., coding, sales methodologies, etc)

  • 56% are interested in green tech; 46% would like to know more about biotech; 40% are interested in AI

  • 88% believe our content is appropriate for their technical mindset; 11% would like us to go deeper

  • 63% want more news about environment; 60% want more news about local issues; 54% prefer transportation news; 42% are concerned about diversity and inclusion

  • Members value Santa Cruz Works to 1) connect with other members, 2) connect with local companies, 3) learn new geeky things

We are conducting a survey to help us learn more about your interests. Essentially, we are asking you to help guide our selection of newsletter content, webinar topics & speakers, and services such as Jobs and CEO Works. Your ideas and feedback will help us continue to improve our support to the community.

Be assured that we will keep this information confidential. The results will be published only in aggregate metrics - no names. Generally, we may wish to highlight certain comments, but we will not associate your name with any comments, unless you explicitly give us written permission. We only ask for your name and contact information so that we may contact you if you are a winner.

Those who participate will have the chance to win fabulous prizes! Prizes will be provided at random as a gift card or promo code. To qualify, you must have attended at least one of our events in 2020. Limited to 1 response per member. You do not need to be a paid subscriber. This survey closes at 9pm PT Monday August 4 assuming we receive at least 300 responses.
