WeatherFlow-Tempest, a Scotts Valley company, was formed in 2019 and has experienced explosive growth already, with an array of technology and services designed to scale globally. They hit the ground running thanks to the expertise of their leadership team, many of whom began creating weather observing networks and providing high-resolution weather forecasts in the early 90’s. Today, the company has over 3 million unique users utilizing their freemium consumer weather services, and over 20,000 currently pay for premium services. Over the last year, WeatherFlow-Tempest doubled its revenue.

Via StartEngine, WeatherFlow-Tempest has raised a new round of funding just over $1 million. These funds will support ways to partner with customers via their complete product line:

• Tempest Hardware - a low-cost high-margin personal weather station with a powerful weather app, generating upfront revenue. It is primarily sold to consumers but also valued by business customers, a trend that will accelerate with expanded Tempest product offerings.

• Personal Apps - provides recurring annual subscription revenue. The rapidly growing Tempest Network and improved forecasts based on Nearcast Technology™ are creating strong growth with existing apps and opportunities for new ones.

• WeatherFlow Pro - a business platform supplying powerful weather data and decision support through SaaS tools and via API. This service product centered on recurring revenue also fuels purchase of weather station hardware, creating more real-time data and improved forecasts.
