Yektasonics: Innovating with Sound, Leading with Success
Yektasonics, a trailblazing startup that participated in Santa Cruz Accelerates Cohort 5 and Launchpad 2022, is making waves in the medical technology field.
Founder Navid Gougol attributes much of their success to the support from Santa Cruz Accelerates. “Santa Cruz Work helped us a lot, especially their connection with CMTC. With the help and guidance of CMTC, we can manufacture these devices using contract manufacturers,” said Gougol.
Yektasonics has developed a revolutionary device housed in a compact 10x13x10 cm enclosure box. Despite its small size, the circuit board measures just 10x4 cm and can be seamlessly integrated into other systems. The device operates in both continuous wave (CW) and burst mode, and its innovative design eliminates the need for a matching network before a transducer.
These power drivers, in a multi-channel configuration, can be controlled for various phases and powers in the Yektasonics Phased Array, which can steer the focal point for a wide range of medical applications. Focused Ultrasound, often referred to as "curing with sounds," is a groundbreaking non-invasive therapy currently treating over 180 medical conditions. Yektasonics' technology can be applied in both medical and non-medical fields, showcasing its versatility and impact.
Furthermore, the National Science Foundation has approved Gougol's travel to IUS '24 in Taiwan this summer. This event will provide a valuable opportunity to engage with various ultrasound companies, building on the excitement already generated by Yektasonics' impressive price/performance offerings.
Yektasonics' journey from a startup in Santa Cruz Accelerates to production readiness demonstrates the importance of innovation, support, and strategic planning in achieving success. With a bright future ahead, Yektasonics is poised to make a significant impact in the medical technology industry.
