For this months event we'll visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI), a nonprofit oceanographic research institute located in Moss Landing, California.
We'll have the chance to tour the labs and get an overview of the different research activities and chat with some of the researchers and engineers.
The MBARI was founded in 1987 by David Packard, co-founder of Hewlett-Packard, with a focus on advancing marine science and technology. MBARI conducts research on various aspects of the ocean, including marine biology, geology, and oceanography. Its mission is to explore and understand the ocean for the benefit of humankind, using cutting-edge technology such as remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) to explore the deep sea and gather data. The institute collaborates with scientists, engineers, and educators from around the world to address key questions about the ocean and its role in the Earth's ecosystem.
Join us as we visit MBARI in Moss Landing 3-5pm, limited spaces available!
