CarbonBridge Makes Finalist List for 2023 WW Orcelle® Award
Ocean Exchange, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, is a leading entity in promoting the acceleration of innovative solutions that aim to foster healthy oceans and promote sustainable growth in the Blue Economy. On October 6, Ocean Exchange announced the finalists for the 2023 Wallenius Wilhelmsen (WW) Orcelle® and Innovation for Transportation/Logistics Hubs Awards.
CarbonBridge, a startup from Santa Cruz Works Santa Cruz Accelerates program, is among the finalists eligible to compete for the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Orcelle® Award. CarbonBridge makes ultra-low carbon microbial methanol which is a cleaner and more sustainable marine fuel that could decarbonize maritime shipping. The list of finalists also includes 11 other innovative solutions that will be presented at Ft. Lauderdale, FL, at the end of this month. The awards have a prize of $100,000 each. The Innovation for Transportation/Logistics Hubs Award is given to the most innovative solutions related to transportation and logistics hubs and the WW Orcelle® Award goes to the solution that creates the most sustainable value in regard to social, community, or environmental issues, whether on land or at sea.
This is an exciting event that brings together some of the most innovative organizations in transportation and logistics hubs, and it will be interesting to see which of the finalists’ solutions emerges as the winner. Congratulations to CarbonBridge and the other finalists!
