Digital NEST Welcomes Two New Board Members

Digital Nest recently announced two new additions to their board: Marilyn Calciano and Yvette Ireta-Lopez who bring a wealth of experience, expertise, and passion for driving positive change in their respective fields. Learn more about Marilyn and Yvette.

Marilyn Calciano

Champion for Communities 

Marilyn is a community volunteer passionate about helping young people and others in need. She is dedicated to improving the economic vitality of communities to enhance the quality of life for all residents. Previously, she was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley and Company in New York. She also worked as a Management Consultant at Andersen Consulting in New York. Marilyn has served on several non-profit boards, including Hospice of Santa Cruz, where she held various positions, including President. She is also the founder of the Family Giving Circle Fund of the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County.

Her management consulting and finance background and many years serving on nonprofit boards will help Digital NEST achieve continued success and growth.

Yvette Ireta-Lopez

Digital NEST has dedicated one board seat to be filled by a Digital NEST alumni. This two-year term ensures we have fresh perspectives from recent alumni and provide the best services for our youth.

Born and raised in Watsonville, Yvette is a proud Latina who leveraged the Digital NEST’s resources during her formative career journey. Pursuing higher education, she earned her degree in Civil Engineering from San Jose State University. After graduating from San Jose State University, she worked as a civil engineer for a few years.  In 2021, She joined Twilio, a leading cloud communications platform, marking a significant milestone in her career. Over the past 2.5 years in software sales, she has embraced the dynamic nature of the tech sector, leveraging her diverse skill set to drive growth and forge meaningful connections. Her experience navigating a career shift aligns perfectly with the Digital NEST’s mission of empowering and guiding aspiring technologists.

Returning to Digital NEST as a board member, Yvette is excited to give back to the community that once guided and supported her. She is committed to empowering the next generation of leaders and fostering an environment encourages innovation, inclusivity, and success.
