HawkTower Rebrands to The Reservoir
Simplifying to Drive a More Sustainable California
December 17, 2024 – HawkTower, a venture capital firm dedicated to advancing innovation in California’s natural resource markets, today announced a major rebrand to the Reservoir. This transition unifies the company’s venture capital efforts, nonprofit initiatives, and R&D facilities under a single, cohesive brand identity.
The Reservoir’s mission is to address California’s most pressing challenges and opportunities by fostering breakthrough technologies in agriculture, biomanufacturing, and sustainability. The rebrand follows the positive market response to the announcement of Reservoir Farms, a first-of-its-kind, nonprofit incubator that provides startups with maker spaces and on-farm testing, and communities with access to workforce development opportunities. Reservoir Farms will launch in Salinas and the Central Valley in 2025.
“Our transition to the Reservoir reflects a natural evolution,” said Danny Bernstein, CEO of the Reservoir and Managing Partner of Reservoir Ventures. “We’ve seen how deeply the Reservoir Farms concept resonates with startups, communities, growers, and investors alike. By unifying our ventures under one name, we aim to enhance transparency, broaden our appeal, and streamline how we communicate our impact to stakeholders.”
The Reservoir is structured around three pillars:
Reservoir Ventures: An early-stage venture capital fund supporting natural resources startups in AI, automation, and bioeconomy.
Reservoir Farms & Labs: Nonprofit incubators offering startups unparalleled access to resources and real-world testing environments.
Reservoir Co.: Integrator services that enable custom, data-supplied solutions between startups, industry, and engineering firms.
This rebrand positions the Reservoir to amplify its impact in California and beyond, with a strong emphasis on community collaboration and long-term sustainability. “We believe this move will help us better support the startups and communities we serve while staying true to our mission of creating economic growth and workforce opportunities,” Bernstein added.
