Joby Aviation is Reaching New Heights

Joby Aviation is giving us a glimpse on social media into what they are currently working on.

On the Joby LinkedIn page we read:

Faster and higher! After demonstrating the range of our all-electric aircraft last year, our flight test team is now focused on taking our aircraft to new heights - literally.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing regular updates from inside our flight test program as we fly at higher speeds and higher altitudes.

This test campaign is the continuation of our "envelope expansion" that will see us explore the performance of the aircraft as we target a top speed of over 200 mph and a maximum altitude of over 10,000 feet - faster and higher than any eVTOL aircraft has flown before.

Next stop: 161 mph @ 3000 ft

Update #1:

Our flight test team aced yesterday’s “envelope expansion” flights, reaching two new top speeds. Next stop? 200 mph!

Update #2:

Achievement unlocked — speed! At 205 mph true airspeed, our first pre-production aircraft just completed what we believe to be the fastest flight of an eVTOL aircraft to date.

The next target on our envelope expansion campaign is reaching 10,000 feet altitude.
