At the 4th Annual Titans of Tech, Kate Roberts / President & CEO of Monterey Bay Economic Partnership, made some very bold predictions for 2020. Written snapshot below. We will post videos in next week’s newsletter.

Top 10 Predictions for 2020

  1. AI will dominate … especially in AgTech.

  2. Big breakthroughs will happen in cannabinoids relating to health applications.

  3. Plant-based diets will make major strides and have broad economic impact.

  4. “Climate Change” will become “Climate Crisis”.

  5. Car-free zones will be more widely deployed (both temporary and permanent).

  6. More cities (following Berkeley’s and San Jose’s lead) will require building electrification and EV capable parking.

  7. More innovative models in housing deployed and scaled: new ways to fund, construct, use existing inventory.

  8. Generation Z will drive market and workplace changes.

  9. There will be a woman in the White House … as VP not as President.

  10. US surfer will win a gold medal at Tokyo Olympics … and she’ll be on a Wheaties box!
