Santa Cruz Workforce Sessions
(article submitted by Andy Stone, Director of Santa Cruz Workforce Development Board)
Dear Community Members,
Here's a fascinating challenge we are tackling: How do we build a workforce system that truly serves everyone in our community?
The Santa Cruz County Workforce Development Board is launching an ambitious project to reinvent our county’s workforce strategy through 2030, and we are excited to be taking a page from the most successful transformation projects by putting our community’s collective wisdom at the center. We have engaged New Ways to Work, Inc. to help us develop this strategic plan and facilitate the community engagement process.
When communities co-create solutions, the outcomes are dramatically better. That's why we are hosting a series of Community Stakeholder Engagement Sessions, starting this month. We are bringing together:
Businesses
Public Agency Partners
Education Providers
Union and Labor Organizations
Youth and Young Adults
General Public
Each of these forums will provide a unique opportunity for you to share your insights, experiences, and suggestions for how we can better support workforce development in our county. Your experiences and insights will help us question old assumptions and imagine new possibilities. The sessions will be held at various locations throughout Santa Cruz County to accommodate as many participants as possible. You can find detailed information regarding the dates, times, and venues for these engagement sessions via visiting Strategic Vision Forums | Workforce Santa Cruz County.
Your input is crucial to the success of our strategic planning process. It will help us understand the challenges and opportunities within our workforce development system and guide us in creating a plan that meets the needs of all our community members. By working together, we can build a workforce that is resilient, adaptable, and poised to thrive in the future economy.
I encourage you to participate in these forums and lend your voice to this important initiative. Your contributions will help shape the direction of our workforce development efforts and ensure that they are inclusive, equitable, and effective.
Together, we can build something remarkable for Santa Cruz County. Let's rethink what's possible.
Sincerely,
Andy Stone, Director
