Salesforce Opens Trailblazer Ranch in Scotts Valley
As the COVID-19 pandemic finally wanes, Salesforce is luring its employees away from Zoom and back to in-person meetings with an alluring "workspace": a tranquil resort-like ranch with an infinity-edge hot tub and guided nature walks in the California redwoods.
The San Francisco-based cloud computing pioneer announced Thursday that employees will begin to visit the new Trailblazer Ranch in Scotts Valley in March for onboarding, trainings, skills building, talent development and generally to connect with colleagues in person.
The ranch is located at 1440 Multiversity, a 75-acre property with conference rooms, a learning center, an outdoor amphitheater, a teaching kitchen, a fitness center and nature trails. Overnight accommodations range from suites with fireplaces to modern sleeping pods. Santa Cruz and its beaches are all nearby for day excursions.
The company said in a statement that the intent is to encourage employees to step away from their screens and engage in person with colleagues, pointing to a recent Deloitte study revealing employees are working three more hours a day compared to before the pandemic.
