Climatize Turns Up the Heat on Climate Action
July 2023 was documented as the hottest month ever, following a record-breaking June, and predictions suggest that 2023 could be the hottest year to date. Amidst this climate crisis, many people feel helpless, and growing concerns across all generations. Climatize has been working hard in the climate change battle to give folks the opportunity to contribute to the cause. Check out some of their latest achievements:
Little by Little
Downloads for Climatize’s app have surged past the 500 mark, with 250 accounts created and 50 active investors participating in their projects. Climatize announced two new investment offerings recently launched on its platform. So far the investments have raised nearly $50,000 for solar projects. Climatize’s second and third projects, Solar for Shakespeare Theatre and Solar for Congregation Ahavas have garnered $26,449 and $20,865 respectively from investors within just two weeks. Funds will go towards solar installation which will allow both institutions to significantantly decrease their carbon emissions. The Shakespeare project alone is estimated to thwart the release of 4,019 metric tons of Carbon Dioxide equivalent.
Garnering Grants and Recognition
In recognition of Climatize's continued efforts to support climate action, Climatize has been selected to join Village Capital's Climate Justice for Migrants and Communities of Color accelerator. This opportunity comes with $20,000 of grant funding, with the potential for additional investment from the WES Mariam Assefa Fund. In addition to the funding, Climatize has also been featured on five podcasts where they discussed their mission and the importance of investing in the fight against climate change. CEO and Co-founder of Climatize, Will Wiseman interviewed with longtime business and technology journalist and former host of NPR’s Marketplace, Molly Woods, on her Podcast Everybody in the Pool. COO & Co-Founder of Climatize, Alba Forns sat down for an interview with Lindsay T. for Make Sense, and both of them were interviewed by the producer of Lever Time Premium, Jared Maher.
