Women in Venture Capital Initiative to Host Networking and Panel Event at CSUMB

The Women in Venture Capital Initiative will host its semi-annual networking and panel discussion event on September 16, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Alumni and Visitor Center at California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB), located at 5108 Fourth Avenue, Seaside, CA 93955.

The evening will feature a panel discussion with Ming Yeh of CSC Upshot and Tricia Timm, a 25-year veteran of the tech sector. Following the panel, attendees can enjoy an evening of networking, drinks, and appetizers.

Hilary Shuman, a leading community member, emphasized the importance of bringing women together to support one another. "Considering the current state of the world, we recognize that women need a community of other women now more than ever. Women excel at networking and often seek to make an impact. However, while women frequently take philanthropic risks, they hesitate to do the same with investments. From leadership development to investing to building a network, we aim to create a community that helps women learn together, take risks, and achieve their goals. We hope these discussions will help folks start this journey with us."

The initiative seeks to create a supportive community that helps women with leadership development, investing, and building a strong professional network. Discussions at this event are designed to encourage attendees to begin their journey in taking strategic risks and investing in their future.

Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged as the event is expected to sell out. For more information about the Women in Venture Capital Initiative and to register for the event, please visit csumb.edu/iied/womeninvc/.
