MidPen Breaks Ground on 57 Unit Affordable Housing Site

May is Affordable Housing Month and yesterday, Wednesday, May 11th, marked the first groundbreaking event for a mixed-use development site that will provide Santa Cruz County with 57 affordable housing units. The groundbreaking was hosted by affordable housing developer Midpen at 1500 Capitola Road, a site located a short walking distance away from Live Oak Supermarket and Live Oak Elementary School.

This new development, aimed at building and bringing wellness to the Live Oak community, will also include a new Dientes Community Dental clinic and 20,000-foot space dedicated to a Santa Cruz Community Health clinic.

There are several other ground breaking events taking place this month including:

  • Wednesday, May 19, 11 a.m.: Pacific Station South

  • Wednesday, May 19, 11 a.m.: 525 Cedar Street

  • Wednesday, May 25, 11 a.m.: 1482 Freedom Boulevard.
