Cabrillo College IT Institute Looking for employers to offer internships

The Cabrillo College IT Institute begins January 24 2021 offering a cohort of 30 adults a chance to jump start a career in Information Technology. This year, the IT Institute will also give students opportunities to experience information technology support in a real-life setting. We want to partner with local employers to provide an internship in late April or in the summer.

Cabrillo College Computer Information Systems is looking for local employers to provide an opportunity for students to experience information technology support in a real-life setting as part of a 60 hour internship over 4 to 6 weeks. The IT Institute will begin January 24th and students will be ready for the internship as of April 18th.

Cabrillo College students will benefit by applying skills and knowledge in a professional context. Employers can benefit from developing internships that are designed to provide future employees with real world understanding of the challenges of supporting technology.

All IT Instittue students will be completing CIS 71 - IT Essentials and learning about computer repair, troubleshooting, hardware, software, networks, security, and customer service. Students will have knowledge and skills in basic business applications skills (Microsoft and/or Google), and basic online cloud office (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs).
