CITRIS Workforce Innovation Program Pays for Internships
The CITRIS Workforce Innovation Program offers companies the opportunity to virtually (or hybrid - up to one day/week on-site) host a University of California undergraduate student this summer, paid for by the program.
If you are a company looking to host an intern, CITRIS and the Banatao Institute will pair you with a student (or students) with interest and skills in one of five areas of emerging IT innovation important to the state of California:
Aviation
Climate resilience
Digital health
Robotics
Semiconductors
Students will be trained in leadership and project management and supported throughout the program by dedicated CITRIS staff and a community of their peers. If you require a full-time on-site intern, you'll need to pay the student a wage equal to our rate ($25/hr up to 30 hours/week for 8 weeks), but we'll still provide all the screening, matching and training.
To qualify you’ll need to:
Provide a structured internship experience focused on active mentorship
Ensure that 75 percent of work scope is experiential learning and no more than 25 percent of duties are administrative in nature
Complete a brief training in best practices for hosting interns to maximize the student experience
Commit to providing a welcoming and inclusive work environment
Conduct at least two professional reviews — one at the midpoint and the other during the last week of the internship
Internships will run from June to August 2022.
