Event Recap: Startup Investment and Community Capital Expo 2020
This year’s edition of the Monterey Bay's premiere startup investment conference was a great success! Featuring a remote format, innovators came together for three jam-packed days.
From Monday to Wednesday; over 500 registered attendees, 24 investors, companies, and speakers discussed everything from recovery and reinvention to equity crowdfunding. Inspirational keynote speakers included Guy Kawasaki on recovery, Congressman Jimmy Panetta on the current environment, and Ben Jealous on inclusiveness and changing the system provided. Themes of recovery, reinvention, and inclusion were also featured in 5 panel sessions.
The Startup Investment and Community Capital Expo always includes a forum for burgeoning startups to present their ideas. This year, 19 innovative companies pitched to investors. This included community capital pitches for smaller businesses and social impact businesses that need funding to get started and venture pitches for business that are scaling and need funding to support their growth.
