GetVirtual Launches New Website

GetVirtual is excited to share the launch of their new website, GetVirtual.org. The creation of this new site has been a wonderful process with many collaborators. GetVirtual began with the marketing brief, co-created with the former Creative Director at Apple and the GetVirtual Executive team, that resulted in the logo, messaging, and design parameters. The concepts were passed on to their partners at Wix, who executed the building of the website on their newest product, Editor X

"Together with Rick Vargas, Ananya Misra and Nikhila Cherukuthota, we came up with colorful ideas that reflect the innovative and creative spirit of GetVirtual. We work with small businesses and college students, so we wanted our website to feel youthful and clean."- Yuliya Monastyrska, GetVirtual Student Co-Founder and UCSC associated GetVirtual class Instructor.

GetVirtual is a non-profit student-led organization established in March 2020, the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Small businesses and their owners were starting to suffer, especially since they heavily relied on sales from tourists and foot traffic, both of which had decreased dramatically due to COVID-19 and widespread lockdowns. The team that businesses could no longer just rely on sales at their physical location. They needed an online presence if they were going to survive. The team started off by executing online services pro-bono for clients in need of help and has since grown to provide a wide variety of free services to assist businesses, including “customized business plans, business owner education, and no-code virtual solutions.”

GetVirtual aims to ensure that from the start of a project, students are enabled with the skills they need to become exceptional Project Managers and to educate business owners on critical skills to ultimately manage their websites themselves. Students are recruited, trained, and gain invaluable real-world project, leadership, and team experience. After successfully supporting Santa Cruz County businesses, GetVirtual has expanded its network and is supporting small businesses in Monterey Bay, Santa Clara, and Connecticut. Last year, GetVirtual also launched a course on Coursera to help people launch their own businesses. GetVirtual has served over 150 businesses since its inception.

The new website features bold text, bright yellow and orange colors, and several moving elements. Check it out for yourself:
