Final Bow for Sara Isenberg Santa Cruz Tech Beat
There was a time when word-of-mouth was the only way to find out what was going on in the Santa Cruz tech scene. It was a time when the only way to know about new tech, people, and jobs was if you knew people like Jeremy Neuner, Margaret Rosas, Bob Cagle, Sol Lipman, and Bonnie Lipscomb. And yet, great companies like Borland, Plantronics, SCO, Seagate, Live Picture, Cruzio, and Nextspace were born. But their histories, the people who built these companies, their challenges and successes, was left in the microfilm archives at the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
Then came Sara Isenberg in 2012 with Santa Cruz Tech Beat. She realized the importance to chronicle these people and companies, particularly with tech becoming a magnetic force in our community. Her tech career in product management enabled her to dig into the details, ferret the facts, and thread together the fabric of our many stories. She danced and tango’d her way into the soul of our everyday work lives, creating music to make our long work days feel magical.
Last week Sara announced that she is pirouetting away from Santa Cruz Tech Beat to pursue new dreams, and dance a new dance. We at Santa Cruz Works tip our hat to the tremendous work Sara has done over the past 8 years. We wish her continued success and magic on every new stage in her life’s performance.
